Looking for something to do this half term in Manchester? How about checking out the story of Tutankhamun – an exhibition featuring the reconstruction of the Pharaoh’s tomb and treasures.
The popular exhibition – Tutankhamun – His Tomb and His Treasures – has been seen in Zurich, Brno, Munich, Hamburg, Barcelona, Budapest and Madrid and, from 22 October 2010, the exhibition arrives in the UK for the first time at the Museum of Museums, Trafford Centre, Manchester.
The exhibition covers more than 4000 square metres of exhibition space and gives visitors the chance to see more than 1,000 replica objects and the true-to-life reconstruction of three of Tutankhamun’s tomb chambers giving visitors an authentic experience of the space uncovered in 1922 by archaeologist Howard Carter.
The exhibition, which can be found at the Museum of Museums at the Trafford Centre close to junctions 9 and 10 on the M60, runs from 22 October 2010 to 27 February 2011.
