What a week it has been for Lapland style attractions and the poor families who had booked to visit.
First to make the news this week was the Lapland Experience in the New Forest which opened on the 28 November. As reported in my previous post, there were hundreds of complaints about Lapland Experience – I believe the number has risen well above 2000 now – from disappointed, angry visitors who thought the attraction was a “scam”.
The Lapland Experience park in the New Forest has now closed down.
Next up is the Lapland West Midlands near Wolverhampton which was due to open yesterday, 6 December and promised an “authentic taste of Christmas”. However, this attraction closed down BEFORE it even opened after Staffordshire County Council refused to give it permission to open.
In a statement on the company’s website it said:
Due to bad publicity and lack of ticket sales, we regret that Lapland West Midlands will not be opening as planned on 6th December 2008 and the event has been cancelled.
All tickets purchased will be REFUNDED IN FULL. If you wish to contact us on this matter, please send your email to firstname.lastname@example.org
